What to expect
Thai massage, also known as Thai yoga massage or assisted yoga, involves massage techniques, acupressure and stretching to help you feel more relaxed, reduce muscle tension and tightness, and get a great night's sleep.
Thai massage comes from Thailand, with its roots linked to India and influences from China.
Thai massages are usually done on a futon on the floor, rather than on a massage table. They are usually clothed massages, unless they are with oil.
During a Thai massage, we work along the lines of the sen (like meridians), massaging, stretching, some twists and gentle shaking to balance energy and improve well-being.
As the massage therapist, I use my bodyweight, thumbs, knees, forearms and elbows to apply pressure to specific points, as well as assist you stretch with specific movements similar to yoga. You don't have to do anything, just relax!
