Yoga Classes in English in central Madrid
Join us for yoga classes - feel stronger, calm and centred
Whether you are new to Madrid, seasoned expat, local or passing through, you can expect friendly, inclusive classes and social events in English in Madrid during the whole year. You can get your FREE Madrid Wellness guide here.
Our classes are for all levels so you are very welcome if you are starting yoga for the first time, come to classes occasionally and if you have been practising for longer.
I work primarily with the English-speaking and international community in Madrid, and welcome all language speakers :)
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that aims to unite the body, mind, soul and consciousness. Yoga consists of eight elements that help us to quiet the mind, look inward and feel at peace.
We have weekly in-person classes in the centre of Madrid plus online classes. Please check the timetable for the relevant location for class. In winter we are indoors and we have spring/summer/autumn yoga classes in Retiro Park. We also have 1-2 retreats a year near Madrid.
Our weekday classes are 60 minutes and our Sunday classes are 75 minutes to give more time for breathing, meditation and relaxation (and a social after!). Classes are themed and I share the class themes on our instagram page, facebook group and in our whatsapp group (I can add you after you have attended). Here is more on what to expect in your first yoga class in Madrid.
If you are looking for support as an expat and new yoga teacher, then please check out my yoga teacher mentorship, The Grounded Teacher.
And if you are looking to relax and release tension, I offer Thai massages for women too in central Madrid.
Our Yoga Styles
-
Classic Hatha & Dynamic Vinyasa
A balanced, grounding practice connecting physical movement with your breath. Classes range from fluid, energising sequences (Vinyasa style) to steady posture holds (hatha style) designed to improve your strength, balance, mobility and overall wellbeing.
-
Yin Yoga
A much slower, restorative practice where floor poses are held for several minutes. The focus is on allowing your body to gradually soften and release tension, acting as a deep, calming meditation through gentle stillness.
-
Integrated Mindfulness & Meditation
We don't treat meditation as a separate sit-down practice. Instead, mindful awareness and simple meditation techniques are beautifully woven into the classes and at the start and end to help you switch off mentally and reduce stress.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Beginners are very welcome to our classes. All our classes are aimed to include all levels, with options and explanations.
The ideal class for you would be the Wednesday class at 18.40h as the group is smaller but as I said you are welcome to all of them.
Please message me if you have any more questions about coming.

No! Flexibility is not required and it’s not the goal. Yoga isn’t about touching your toes or looking a certain way but you will become more aware of how your body feels and how to feel better.
Some people notice they do become more flexible with regular practice while others may feel less stiff, move more comfortably and feel less achey.
You’ll learn to move with more ease, breathe better, release tension and build strength. This is a common question and I have written more about this here.

In winter, we go for tea/coffee after class on Sundays near our yoga class in barrio Ibiza/barrio Salamanca.
Once a month or so we go for brunch somewhere in central Madrid after the Sunday class. We organise this through our whatsapp group and you will see the date on booking 🙂. It is a great way to make friends!
When we are in the park, sometimes we have a picnic or hang out in Retiro Park or go somewhere nearby for a coffee.
-
Absolutely! You can buy two classes in your own name and come with a friend or you can each book your own space.
To book a class, you need to register on the booking site, buy a drop-in class (or two or more) / pack and reserve your class.
Unfortunately packs can not be shared or used to invite guests so if you get a pack your friend would need to book a drop in class separately or you could buy this for them on your registration.

Our yoga classes and events are in English as we are an international community.
As we are in Spain, of course it is good to speak Spanish! You will find speakers of lots of languages, including Spanish at our social events and retreats.

If the class is meant to be in the park, and it is forecast for heavy rain (or the park is closed), we will move the classes indoors. I will message you and aim to give as much notice as possible, either the day before and no later than two hours’ before the class.
As we have limited space indoors, the first 8-16 people booked in for class are guaranteed a space indoors. Everyone else can use the credit to book another time.
Please note: If you only want to come to class if it is in the park, please wait until we are sure about the weather. If it rains heavily on the day or the park closes at the last minute and we need to cancel completely then you can use your class credit within a month/before your pack expires.
