About Atiya

Welcome everyone. I’m Atiya a Yoga Teacher and Mentor based in Madrid. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011 and believe in supporting the whole person: nervous system, mindset, movement and everyday wellbeing.

My work centres around helping people slow down, feel grounded, and reconnect with themselves - through mindful yoga classes, supportive mentoring for teachers and small group retreats. I also offer Thai massage as a more hands-on way to support rest and relaxation.

Having studied Biochemistry at University, retrained to become a lawyer then school teacher, I left the corporate world behind to become a yoga teacher and later a Naturopathic Nutritionist. In addition to teaching yoga, I worked with clients in my private nutrition clinic, supporting them with stress, sleep, weight loss, and emotional eating.

Since 2011, I have taught yoga full-time and part-time, teaching classes in my home studio in Bristol, gyms, other studios, retreats, schools and helping to train new yoga teachers. I trained to Advanced level in Canada, completed an intense sadhana course, completed specific training courses and taught children, teens and pregnant women.

Since moving to Madrid in 2018, I’ve continued teaching yoga independently and running retreats that bring together community, nature and movement.

Alongside this, I support yoga teachers through 1:1 mentoring. I help new and experienced teachers build confidence, refine their sequences, find their authentic voice and navigate the challenges of teaching as an expat with more clarity. I love guiding teachers to recognise their strengths, trust themselves and build a practice that feels meaningful and sustainable.

I also offer Thai Massage one to two days a month to help clients release stress, ease tension and feel more at ease in their bodies.

Whether you join a class, come on a retreat, work with me as your mentor, I’m here to offer a calm, supportive space where you can breathe, feel and step into your full potential.

I look forward to working with you soon!
